    So, anyone please correct me if I am wrong, but based off of my limited research with google and YouTube, but whenever your diff touches water it is usually hot. That causes it to contract and suck in air/water and can lead to leaks in your case. Having a breather tube pulls in cool air and prevents that. So you can buy this badass kit for $30 or risk replacing your diff for way more.

    Basically yes. But it’s not just water, mud, snow. Any time the pressures change inside the dif the air gets sucked in or pulled out The factory breather is right on top of the dif, our kit relocates it to a higher area where the chance of it being submerged to suck water/mud/snow is far far less.
