Well….. I’ve been putting off bringing my boy home. Had some things I needed to work thru first. I ordered a glass flame that lights up and has some of his ashes in it. I rationalized putting off bringing him home until that flame was done, thinking I would just go pick everything up at one time. They called me Friday telling me the glass flame was in. Kind of put me in panic mode. I went to counseling today (yes, I’m doing counseling) and talked about it. I’ve also put off bringing him home because I was dreading it because that is the last thing I will do for my baby and it really sucked and hurt. ….. The finality of it was kicking my ass and I guess I was trying to prolong the last mom duty. Imagine knowing that is the last thing I, as his moma, will do for him.
I went and got him and the glass flame. Wasn’t prepared for what it would do to me. I realized six weeks ago today I hugged my baby for the last time as he left for his night shift at work. Today I hugged him in an Onyx box. I hate today but he’s home where he belongs❤️

One that comes to mind is going to Cedar Rapids Iowa in a Blizzard the snow was bumper deep on US 30 I just keep going the truck was full of fuel .

Worst case I figured I would get rescued where the truck stopped when the road was opened.

I got to Cedar Rapids found a Little Truck Stop the Electric was still on the poor Girl in the store sure was not going anyplace. it took 3 days to the customer dug out enough to take the load of steel.

The best or worst part was being on the phone in a phone booth watching a 3 big R trucks come off the ramp way to fast good thing the ditch between me and the ramp was deep with lots of fresh snow the hood of the first truck was about 20' away .

Shauna, respectfully, I disagree that this is the last thing you will do for your son. The love that you will pass from him to his daughter is something he would/will value more than anything you could give him as a Dad. Your focus on that will mean everything to him.
