I would put a gusset on the back side to control side movement

Back in 05 I learned the hard way that the loop on the driver's side is not a tow loop. I got my plow truck stuck and just hooked a tow chain (yes I know these are always a bad idea but it rarely requires more than a gentle tug) up to that. One relatively easy tug and I tore it right off, along with a small chunk of my bumper. The truck was maybe a week old. I felt pretty dumb when I looked in the manual afterwards. It was the first Toyota I had owned without an actual tow hook on the front. Thankfully my "new to me" TRD has a real one.

    Are we talking $60.00 for 2 ( $30.00 each) or $60.00 each.
Also, can two be mounted on the front? One on each side.

I was interpeting it as $60 each, but I want to be fair. Like I said earlier, if I didn't have to weld in the bushing and could just drill the bottom plate I would take less for them. I don't know if one can also be mounted on the drivers side...maybe someone else can chime in???

Actually I'd like to ask for clarification: I have a TRD Sport and I have the thin bracket pictured on the passenger side and what appears to be a tow loop on the drivers side. Is this "tow loop" I speak of on the drivers side truly a tow point? Previous posts I have read is that it is not-It is an attachment point while transporting the truck when it was hauled to the dealer after being made.

    So, whats the real answer?

hmm, same here, that loop on the driver's side would appear to be more sturdy than the right angle bracket on the passenger side

too lazy to check the owners manual atm...

The manual says to use the passenger side loop (the one I have pictured). If you crawl under your truck and look closely at where the driver's side loop attaches you can see it's not very robust.

what would you guys the willing to pay for one without the bushing? it's very time consuming to drill the 2 inch hole for the bushing and weld it in. I could make them much faster and cheaper if I just drilled a hole in the bottom plate .these are made from 1/2" steel anyway so there still very strong.when I made the first one for myself I never thought I would be getting into the fab business.

oh man I need one! Please do it soon. :)
I don't really want the TRD hook, would much prefer something I could hook a d ring to.

Put me on the list for one.

    There's already some made?

I could really use one. Don't want to use the paper thin factory ones, the driver side one makes me nervous as well.
