if you climb under and look at the attachment points the passenger side is much more heavy duty.

right on buddy, while the loop on the LH itself looks better, its just kinda hanging there in mid-air welded to that thin little crossmember.

great idea! I plan on making a set from stainless steel, I can get heavy angle in stainless steel, no need to weld

 

yeah I haven't had time to get down to my dad's shop to fab anymore up. I still plan on making a few for those who were interested and all make one that sticks straight out and post the pics to see what you think.

 

I'll try to get some pics up, I like mine. Hooked it up to my friends truck and he dragged me around no problems.

 

so is it best to just install on the passengers side because it's more sturdy?

 

I don't know if it's more sturdy but that is where the original 1 was located. I'm not sure if you could install 1 on the driver side???

I'm interested too. I added a set of Chevy tow hooks to my 97 Dakota years back....glad I did. Something like you're doing would work very well on the Gen 2 Tacos.
