Don't need a tow hook, will never pull anybody out, not even my own mother!
Don't plan on getting stuck where someone has to pull me out.
Only stupid people that don't know how to drive get stuck.
(same stupid people that cut down the manual 6 speed cause they can't drive a stick)

I made a different version after it was mentioned that the old version could get hung up on obsticals. This new version is also 1/2" plate and is made to accept a 3/4 shackle (7/8" pin). I will have pricing info tomorrow after I get a material quote back. If you are interested let me know.

I much like the one seen in the 1st pic above ^^ on the ground. Oh & with the bushing of course, just because in my mind that's what it should be. If a fellow gets hung up on the first model, he has more issues than just what that beefy lil' attachment point is causing.

Willy... will your 1st model bolt up with the TRD large skid plate installed?

I agree with you 100% on your comments of the first version, it just takes longer to make and I have to drive 60 miles one way to use my dads welder. I believe the 2nd version is just as strong and I can sell them a lot cheaper. I'm not sure if either fit with the skid plate. As soon as I come up with a price I will post these in the buy sell forum.

I used a gen 1 hook. It is a little tight with the trd skid plate but my strap fits in just fine. Let me know what you guys think.....

If you get stuck its because you made a mistake. You don't HAVE to make mistakes. I've had to back up at worst. No.. I take that back. Got towed once (by wife). I made the mistake of not walking a stream and finding it was mush/quicksand not gravel.

Anywho.. "never going to pull someone out" is just a shitty attitude though. Driving a nowhere road and finding someone in a car slid into a ditch, middle of winter, middle of the night, you'd just leave them there to die? Awesome. Welcome to new america. Now in hawaii, I just leave em. Its not cold and they're likely high and its a stolen car. But I've been through the twisties of Pennsylvania in winter at night.

If he drives by, I'll help you. (i have the hook and a strap)

I like the 1st one better. With a little finish work would look real nice.

Looks like I will sell these for $35 dollars shipped to anywhere in the US (PAYPAL ONLY). They will be unpainted. I can't guarantee fitment with skid plates. Pm me if you're interested. I should have them done in a few weeks.

If you could offset the shackle hole by angling the plate slightly toward the center of the vehicle, it should work with the optional skid at most pull angles.

    Edit:
Playing around under my truck it looks like if you can get the shackle hole around the middle of the skid opening and about 1.5" out from the frame, shackle should sit nicely.
