Somewhat productive day today. Got all the power sanding done on the midget, took it down to 220. Now to remove more trim and fiddly bits, then hand sand the rest. After that is the dent pulling and body filling. Found a couple spots of pitting to be fixed, but no penetrating rust surprisingly. Also only found two layers of paint on the car, which is somewhat surprising for the age.

 

I like the blue exhaust tips.

Yeah... brand new exhaust with chrome tips. Roommate was helping do the trunk area and accidentally nicked one of the tips with the running sander. Guess they're going to get painted black now to try and hide the very apparent scratches on the one tip. I've learned not to try and have nice things. So I wrapped them in painters tape to save the others

 

You can come down and sand down the Talon next...

 

Not if you want there to be a car left when I'm done sanders remove rust you know

 

Just sand above the rockers and strut towers and you're good. Rockers are gonna get the sand blast treatment.

 

You're supposed to fill the rockers with fluid film.. that's taking the term "sandbagging" a bit far don't you think?
