I replaced mine at 4 years old....but not because it was failing me. Unfortunately the positive post had begun to leak. Was able to find a gently used 3 month old Duralast on the local TW market thread for $40

 

Speaking of batteries I replaced the 6 year old OEM Johnson Controls battery in the Camry last month. Was ever so slightly cranking slower and I didn't want to get stranded. Found a place that sells East Penn/Deka batteries and puts their logo on them. Was like $135 for a group 24F (same as the Tacoma) 5 year warranty and made right here in PA. Also has a higher CCA at 700.

Deka is a big name in the battery business. As been for a long time. Think I've seen a couple of posts in the 3rd gen forum about people getting 27Fs to fit without much effort

 

All other places had the same warranty battery for almost $200 While I have no problem paying that, when I can get a "locally" made battery for cheaper and support a small local business it's a win-win for me. They'll be my place for batteries from now on.
