Isn't the temp check mode only for determining the correct amount? I would have already added most + a little extra.

I actually went to the stealership a month ago to have my transmission flushed, 12 quarts out and 12 new quarts in. Service guy said $199. (no strainer change)

I showed up and he asked how many miles I was at and I told him 160K. Said sorry can't do any over 120K, can cause issues.

So I ordered the parts and did it myself. Glad I went ahead and dropped the pan & changed the strainer and cleaned the magnets. Was not bad, but good piece of mind.

 

Ok, Tim Curry is an exception. I'd top for him

 

Once they're used and sit around for a while, even when cleaned, the seals often times go out anyway
