Work wasn't too bad. Just dealing with the hot August temps we have around here. Looking forward too October.

    And you?

I thought you would; Now it really looks like my truck made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs!

Oh yeah, I just wanted to confirm with you that this was a good idea...

I've decided to run 10W30 in my truck through the winter after consulting with my mechanic; My one uncle who used to be a mechanic thinks I should switch back to 5W20 for the winter, but I'm thinking my truck will run fine on 10W30.

Meh, PA winters aren't that harsh. 10w30 synthetic will be fine even in our coldest days.

And it's high mileage formula too; The most extreme cold my truck ever encountered was about -23 with the wind chill on a trip to a friend's house in the Poconos back in January 2018. The truck ran fine, but the battery was affected more than anything as it struggled to start a tiny bit after it had been sitting all night...

You'll be fine with 10w30 in cold temps. If you're worried about it....run 5w30 in the winter. Both are 30 weight oils at operating temps. I would not run 0/5w20 oil in an engine that's burning oil to begin with.....ever

Hell no! Never running 5W20 or anything below it again! Truck runs great on 10W30; If there's any oil use it's not noticeable because I check the dipstick at least once a week. My truck also just passed its annual emissions test with flying colors as well!

M1 HM 10w30 is a nice robust oil. It has a KV100 rating of 12. 40 weight oils start at 12.3. So she's nice and healthy.

I'm currently running 10w30 in my rig

You have like 90K miles right? Have you had issues whatsoever with your engine?

All 3 Walmarts near me are out of the Maxlife. All were low on all oil products.

I've noticed this trend with WM lately...

Luckily the Tractor Supply behind my house keeps my Rotella T6 5w40 in stock. It's got all the dinosaurs and vitamins a feller needs...
