It hooked much better later in the day once the track warmed up. This was my first run of the session so the tires were a bit cold still.

I really found the need for better seats after this event. My left leg is bruised from cramming it into the door to hold me in place. Made it a bit difficult to get that 2-3 shift actually since I was half falling out of the seat

    Hey I’m just poking ya.
    You did great…
Glad your having a good time…
Yes a good racing seat will help you greatly.
    A five point even better.

Really like that shifter slap in the beginning.

I'm tempted to do something like this with the beater, but I think one hard jolt and those upper ball joints are gonna break  That and I'm not sure where to even look to find these places...

I'd be more worried about your whole front subframe leaving the car behind... and just look on Motorsportreg website, search for events near your area.

Edit: shifter slap? You mean the three shake special? I also never realized how violently the shifter shakes when it hits redline...

I'd really like to have somebody with more experience ride along with me. Taking passengers out for the experience is fun and all, but it took me at least five runs to figure out how to take the last left handed before the final slalom. I also found that my A pillar really blocked my vision on that turn, making it difficult to look ahead to where I wanted to go.

Well seems you and me are in a stretch of bad luck it seems. I'm pretty sure the head gasket it letting go in the Talon. Pretty sure those 5-6K pulls up the mountain the other week didn't help it...

Nah, a top end gasket set is only $90 and new bolts are $20 off the Rock. Good excuse to replace those leaky cam seals.
