How did you mount your raptor style grill lights?

Those wheel skins as you call them came on the truck from the dealer when we bought it.

I'm more worried about the transmission. Probably overheated it :(

If you’re talking to me...I have a date with the wife tonight. Leaving shortly. I'll get back to you a little later on the grill lights

I actually used a black garbage can to fab up the mounts. It was easy to cut, fairly strong and black to blend in. The real trick is to make it to where you can't see the brackets or any of the wiring. I was very anal about that.

I used the top rim of the garbage can to form the brackets.

They're attached using stainless steel screws.

    20180717_174315.jpg

I then cut some tabs to further secure them so there was no chance they would move around. They're attached using some plastic adhesive. You can see them in the picture above .

Next came the wiring. Everything is hidden in loom and secured so it can not be seen once the grill is on.

They're powered off the right side corner lamp. They are on when either the parking lights or the headlights are.

I went with these lights because they're very bright and perfectly match my DRLs.

It was trial and error, lots of measuring and trimming till I got it exactly how I wanted it.

Not really a raptor light type here...but I must say, a very clever install, using the garbage can and all. Nice.

Thanks. Here's the electrical hookups. All loomed, so it's hard to see.

Oh hell yes...loomed and waterproofed...I was beginning to believe I was the only "Old Fart " that protected wiring.
