So you know how you always hear about the "European weather model"? Local guys said 2"-3" of the white stuff. The Euro model said 7"+. Well, we're at 8.5" and it's still very lightly snowing.

The dividing line between a couple of inches and a lot (for this area anyway) basically ran right above us. So we measured 8" on my kid's car and over 9" on the back deck. Might be another 1/2" before it all tapers off later tonight. At one point it was snowing more than an inch an hour.

So chaulk one up for the Euro model that we usually laugh at.

Now we have to deal with single digit tonight. That makes salt and pretreatments pretty useless. But the plows are working.

That was a long time ago. A shot of penicillin and a hammer took care of that

That's quite a dump for your neck of the woods. Not a single flake in Indy. Well, except me.

I've got good friends near Peaks Mill in a holler...gettin' hit pretty well.

Snow is certainly not unusual down here all though there are years where we have virtually none. But this is a lot all at once for us....especially with how fast it came down and now the bitterly cold temps.

Just 20 miles north where I work.....maybe 2". Big difference below that cutoff line.

Jeez, I need to move south for snow. It was 50 and pouring here yesterday. No hints of snow anywhere on the ground. Supposedly changing tomorrow though.

Hope you and yours are healthy and staying warm. It's been bad for a lot of Alaska recently as well but thankfully no serious injuries.
