We woke up to a chilly 19° this morning.

 

Not done with the engine bay and under-carriage, at least got it scrubbed up in time for it to rain. Time to have the rims re-shot.
And a picture of why I refer to it as "The Pink Snake", couldn't tell it apart in a parking lot from all the other 1st gens which are still around.

Afternoon stockers

Started purchasing lumber to enclose the carport. This little bit (minus 3 2x4x8), with a box of concrete anchors and screws was $358




Also called and am waiting on a quote for a garage door. That'll be interesting...

 

6' 9" x 9' is the room I have to work with. 2" thick insulated door with glass. The company that was recommended to me, atleast the sales guy, sounded very knowledgeable and polite. That alone is a plus in my book.

 

I'll keep that in mind! There's probably gonna be a good charge to drive all the way to Mercersburg, PA

 

This just in, garage doors are expensive...

I think my 8x9 R15 fah’ncy ones were $1400 a piece. I shudder to think what prices are at now..

 

$1800 for a 6' 9" x 9', 2" insulated (R17.75) metal backed, torsion spring system, and glass on the 3rd panel. This is installed though. It's a better built door, so I have no problem spending a little bit more.

 

Thats not as bad as I expected actually. Still bad but not super bad.

I think being slightly odd of a size adds to costing a little bit more, but the guy on the phone was quick to come up with a solution to my clearance issues. Seems like a quality setup, I don't mind paying a little more for that. Now if only the lumber I bought to frame everything out looked as good

 

Yea I avoid ordering stuff like this and car detailing products during the winter. Shows my fear exactly
