"Thrilling Thursday Outdoor Recess Spaghetti!" was my crossing guard greeting this morning. Parents and teachers cheered the two middle words, after two days of indoor recess (single digit temps). 13 degrees this morning, warming up again with snow forecast Sunday. K-5 magnet school is such joy every morning! Daughter called last evening to say it was cold in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland WA) down at 20... No sympathy from this kid out of the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Alaska and other northern places. Tri-Cities has the mildest winter climate in the state, and the hottest summers, which explains why they welcome the week of Unlimited Hydroplane racing in early August to help fill motel rooms.
