Ya that would be a good setup you and still pleanty capable. I’m happy with mine finally I like the tire size but may do one size smaller height wise next time with C range.

How’s the ride with the kit ?
    Any regrets? Any pointers?
I’ve been contemplating it. I got 3” drop struts from eBay awhile ago and thinking bout getting the rear portion of the sos kit to complete it.

I think you're right. This poor old girl needs something light since she's already pretty heavy:laugh:

Ride is just as good as stock imo. The only bad thing is that carrying capacity takes a dump after installing the kit. ive considered some hellwig helper springs to keep it from bottoming out when i have weight in the bed. That is honestly my only complaint, and if you're lowering a truck in the first place, you're likely not doing much hauling so that is almost a nonissue.

Tips id give you would be to buy some cheap take-off shocks for 2nd gens (not sure if the front ones from 3rd gens will work) and then get some springs and you can assemble the coilovers without a spring compressor since the spring perch is so low. You literally just drop the perch on the shock, then the spring, then the top hat and just tighten down the top nut, no comrpessor required. For the back, when swapping the springs to SUA, make sure you install the front bolt for the leaf springs first, and then you will be able to align the rear with the provided shackles much more easily.

If you're on the fence, i say go for it man, i've loved mine from day 1. Truck handles so much better with a lower COG. I swerved once doing about 65mph on the highway to avoid a softball sized rock in the road, and it was extremely solid. Im fairly sure if i was stock height or lifted, the truck wouldve rolled big time.

If you have any particular questions, dont hesitate to ask, im happy to try and help

You might have just pursuaded me to pull the plug man! Been so caught up in tryna make a decision to go back to stock, lift it 2” with fox or Dobinson’s or just complete my drop kit. I think I’ve made my mind up, The truck will perform better and be sexy. & alrighty I’ll be asking some questions in the near future.. take care man.:headbang:

4wd launches are incredible, but extremely hard on everything so i dont do em too often..

Honestly if youre gonna drive a s/c'd truck in the rain, you need 4wd or its a death trap. Ask me how i know hahah

Handles great right out of the box. Plus you would have the distinction of having the only 2nd gen 5 lug to have a 4.0
