Just checking in. Hope all is well with the assembled. 2.5 hrs waiting to have Costco rotate and fix a tire (screw I've been carrying a while...) on the Tacoma last night. Boys sure did get excited about a 100K mile Tacoma. There's something to be said about keeping up with maintenance on these old things.

When it comes to old trucks....I'm not particularly loyal. I dig all the ol' Japanese rigs. That's what was so popular back in the 80s. My first truck was an '89 B2200. Owned an '86 B2000 a few years back that I bought has something to tinker with.

Little known fact......those B2600 rigs were originally powered by a Mitsubishi 2.6 engine. The 2000 and 2200 were Mazda motors though. The original KIA Sportage was powered by a Mazda 2200 engine....same one found in the trucks.

 

That reminds me of Brett (Blackhawk Construction), my friend contractor that I help out, when I stopped by Jimmy's Down The Street as he and his crew were finishing renovation of the kitchen (added a new exhaust fan system that covers nearly the entire kitchen, and impressively the roof when viewed from the back of the building), he told me that he stepped outside one day to make a call, and saw a young man putting a note on his early Tacoma. The kid wanted to leave his number for Brett to call whenever he decides to sell his Taco. It may be a little newer than this Bring A Trailer vehicle.
Yesterday I learned about Bring A Trailer from YouTube's Hoovie's Garage channel. Both of these trucks seem a lot better sight unseen than the 1970 Super Bird Roadrunner he bought, snipped and drove to Wizard's Garage... I think the best vehicle he owns is the million mile Dodge Cummins...
Latest addition was last Friday: Gray HDPE tailgate insert from Wheelers/All-Pro Off-Road/Trail Gear, an easy job, and a knee saver! Nice to have some lighter surfaces inside the Century topper.
