    It’s the plug coating sealant along with cement. Heated it up with heat gun before inserting.

That brings back memories of sitting on the buck and pole fence across the small stream at Porcupine Guard Station out of Ashton, Idaho in 1976 (same season) watching the brook trout swirling around among the watercress. Robert Traver (author of Anatomy of a Fisherman, Trout Madness, Laughing Whitefish, Anatomy of a Murder) enjoyed fishing for them In the Michigan U.P. That's the pen name of John Voelker, former Michigan attorney general of Ishpeming, where he was a member of the Presbyterian church that Mom's brother pastored for a number of years before his passing.
