    @Sig45

    I'm going to go out on a limb and say you don't have a mechanical issue with the transmission. That connection that Adam is talking about is known for getting a little roached out under the boot. But I would certainly listen to what Mike says though

    :thumbsup:

    I'll start the thread the day after Halloween, but last year was the first and so far only time I've ever put Christmas lights on my truck before Thanksgiving. I did that because I was expecting my frame to arrive sometime in December and that I would be without my truck for a week. My frame arrived mid-November and my truck ended up being completed before Thanksgiving! So you're definitely sure you want me to take over?

    Has there ever been a time when you wished you had a snowblower? I'm part of an unofficial neighborhood snowblower brigade that takes care of sidewalks and helps neighbors without snowblowers.

    Another reason to start it early and bump it daily until it becomes self-sufficient is to reduce the potential for 10 different Christmas tree threads.

    I have an older version of that 24" Troybilt, circa 2008.

    It's a pretty worthless machine in anything other than powdery stuff. I hate to sound ungrateful as my friend gave it to me for free with about 8 hours on it, but even she admitted it was crappy :laugh:

    Not really. Every 3 or 4 years we get a big snow.....a foot-plus. And maybe it would be nice. But it's just something else for me to take care of

    My Troybilt kicks ass, and the 24" Toro from the mid-1990s that I got from a friend for $20 and spent about $150 getting running kicked some serious ass as well until the belt started to slip. I gave it to my friend Gwyn's teenage son to tinker with and my dad bought the Troybilt; I can't believe that your 2-stage machine doesn't perform well!

    I just realized this is the first year I won't have to worry about snow blowing sidewalks! Friggin' rights! :D

    It's just a piss poor design. The newer models have probably corrected the issues with the rudder. I need to do the rubber rudder mod, but am too lazy at this point and then will have nothing to bitch about :rofl:

    Our snow accumulation was mild this year, but that damn plow runoff at the end of the driveway is where the new Troybilt really proved it's worth!

    Quote from my friend and neighbor Ryan...

    "When you own a snowblower, you always look for an excuse to use it."

    That's where mine chokes :rofl:

    I hate the snow and hate snow-blowing it. I have 4wd in the Tacoma and AWD in the Subaru, so unless it's more than 8" I'm not even bothering this year...
