Way I view it is this, I can always pull a trailer or drop the tailgate if I need more outdoor space, but I can't add indoor space nearly so easily.

Left the bedroom door open a crack and he got in to her dresser. He's figured out how drawers work and pries them open.

I've got a trailer, certainly has it's place. I can't tell you how often I carry things that just wouldn't work in a 5' bed.

I'm more the opposite. Even with my Tundra. When I needed to move stuff it was almost always easier to use the trailer for the low load height. The only time I am averse to using a trailer is if it's something hard to strap down or if the path is gonna be really tight.

That's the nice part about a lowered 2wd Tacoma with the long bed. You can use the tailgate as a step instead of having it at chest height!

I'm pretty short and the dropped tailgate on my truck (slightly higher than other stock trims) is nowhere near chest height. Are you standing in a hole when you open the tailgate?

Nah, I'm just a wussy and deal with mostly lifted trucks coming into my work for parts. An automatic PTO/Pump is not fun to hike up that high.

Ah, I got it now. I was just kinda confused and assumed you meant vs stock height because... you know... the thread we are in.

Honest question, isn't there basically no suspension for a load when you drop a truck like that?

There's certainly less, but the 2wd never had a large payload capacity to begin with. I've loaded it up with motorcycles and washer+dryer combos with no issue. I am running 4x4 leaf springs in the rear, as well as a C-notch frame with low profile bump stops to still give me travel capacity. Is it as good as factory? No. Definitely not. But it can still do light duty truck things without issue.

Well that's a first. Never have I ever seen a lowered truck actually do work. Hats off to you! :hattip: And thank you for the info and pics.

No problem! I drove the crap out of this truck for a year before getting my tundra. Even when there was 10+ inches of mud to get in the sawmill yard, I'd grab second and keep it plowing

@50Buck I even drove it 6 hours south to do an overnight camping+racing trip fully loaded with my buddies race wheels and my own. Raced it all day, hurt the rod bearings, then drove it 6 hours back fully loaded

    Mmmmmmmm
7500 watt gen used about a dozen times.

Stolen by son for use on a job site.
    Dropped 2 or three times.
    How bad can it be..

Ripped off cables. All connectors loose

    1394DBE6-4D49-400C-A5FD-B17080D5BAE9.jpg

    control panel wiring ripped .

    Ignition switch destroyed.

If the low oil lamp is part of the safety interlock ability to run, a new panel is 200 bucks.

Fucking thing is wicked heavy. Like 50lbs more than mine. No wheels. Same wattage as mine. Makes no sense..
    All wiring is just hanging..
