Another good carnage pic today. Cylinder out of a dump truck that flopped on its side. Ripped the base of the cylinder free from the tube.

Speckled sussex! our favorite back before we surrendered to the raccoons. Although the buff orpingtons were pretty great too.

Here's the pup, taking his job very seriously when we had the chickens.

These two had a constant battle going. that rooster was as needy as a hungry dog. Always wanting to be the center of attention.

In case you forgot i'm here...

My Girlfriend came through with flying colors. Doc removed a 10 pound BENIGN tumor, no shit. It was strangling her kidneys and causing all the other truly concerning symptoms. Expectation is that she'll be fine. And she's happy she just lost 15# with all the bits removed. Gonna be a quiet summer while she recuperates.

I appreciate the well wishes, and I'm jealous of the birds!

    Morning Fellow Stock People…

Not sure what’s going on first part of the day.
    Taking care of grandson tonight.
Will have a nice dark country ride home to check out my headlamp adjustment.
    Anything interesting happening today?

    Good Morning Mike
Retrieved quad and generator from out at cabin yesterday. Getting ready for fishing trips. Pull the boat out today and get it prepped. If fish count builds right, Chitina (Copper River) mid-week. If not then, the week after. Love this time of year ... Summer has finally arrived ... and so have the skeeters.

Aforementioned recovering girlfriend was pre-committed to hosting her sons graduation bbq. She’s on bed rest and hydrocododone.

suffice to say, I’m the proverbial headless chicken today (sorry wolfe).

beautiful weather though. Could be much, much worse.

A custom Tacoma, er, Husky Tool part was built yesterday for use with the Tacoma. 20230610_144022[1].jpgThe kit arrived for curbside delivery at Home Depot, with the jack handle missing. Replacement part was 6-8 weeks out, or I could take it back to HD and wait for another kit to arrive, or.. I suggested I could go to Pacific Steel and look through their cutoffs. I've been aware of customer returns going back on a warehouse shelf and being shipped out on a future order so I wouldn't do that. Four hours later an email arrived that the part is unavailable. Pacific Steel is now commercial sales only, and referred me to a welding and machining shop north of Post Falls, so I drove out to the farm and shop early Friday afternoon. I enjoyed a great visit with the owner, and after explaining that I needed a piece of steel tubing just under 7/8 OD and scaling box images provided a length of 23.98 inches, he cut a piece of Schedule 40 "just over 24 inches" on a great old "low tech" band saw that had been sitting in a barn for years that he picked up for 500 bucks. He has 1400 in it as it needed to be converted back to 3-phase from a previous conversion to 110 volt single phase, plus additional worn and broken parts replacements. They do CNC, plasma cutting, and other work, and he farms 600 acres (from the equipment and the other area farms, I'm guessing alfalfa hay).
Cleaned and applied a smooth coat of Allis-Chalmers Orange from one of Dad's very old spray paint cans that works. I'm happy so I can use that to install the LCE Performance Street Exhaust Header kit and mount studs this summer (time permitting). I'm like Mike! As soon as you plan, Life happens!
:rockband: Rockin' with grandkids and their parents this evening... Have to remember to pick up their (ordered and they paid-for) pizzas at Papa Murphy's Pizza on the way. First day of summer break!

Good thinking out of the box, it's always cool to hear the stories of some old tools that shops use infrequently or every day.
