I'm more impressed that the Subaru managed to get going that sideways with that much traffic

Little bit of rain, less than optimal tires, and speed will do that. I got sideways in the Subaru a while back making a turn a little bit too quick in the rain. AWD just sent it sorta sideways. Butt pucker moment...

I'd almost say it takes skill, because even with everything in my Tacoma disabled for Nannie's, I can just start to get the back end out sideways when coming into a corner locking up the drums. Granted I intend on taking my foot off the brakes, but still.

So after a great outing yesterday, I was noticing a change in thrust in my trolling motor.
Kinda the second time I was thinking about it.
So I went out and ran the motor on the speed I usually run. Seemed ok. But sound was off.
So ran it a little faster and it seemed to struggle.
Put it on hi and poof, it quit.
    I had nothing.
So put it on constant and went to the battery.
Just touched the fuse holder and off it went.
So pulled the fuse holder and the fuse fell apart in my fingers

    IMG_7041.jpg

So it took me 15 min to get the end of the fuse out of the holder because of corrosion.

put the spare fuse in it and off it went.

    IMG_7042.jpg

    Still didn’t sound quite right.

so I did a voltage drop test and got a .5V volt drop from the battery to a foot beyond the fuse holder.

Decided to cure this once and for all.
    I installed a 40amp circuit breaker.
    IMG_7044.jpg

So we will see if I get the full power to the motor now..

I don’t want to buy a new trolling motor this year…
    We will see
