    Hey Brian..
    Long time no see..

If you have the 4.0 then you must have the full bracket assembly which means iirc yea it’s a pita.
    Ac has to come off.
    Not a quickie…

Might as well pull the entire front end and radiator to really free up some access

I'm still waiting on the quotes to come in on doing mine with architectural shingles. To whoever asked, yes I have a fairly shallow pitch.

Hi Mike. Long time no see. Yes, 4.0 and it also looks like the alternator mounts to it as well :notsure:. What sucks is that the ac compressor and the alternator are both brand new and OEM. I really do wish I could predict shit like this. I know I’m not alone on that

The newness of the ac and alt makes it much more manageable. Use to have to grind compressor bolts because of seized threads. Basically, the bracket is the first thing you put on the front of the engine
    I think.

I’m trying to get one of the shop mechanics to help this Sunday. I have today off to watch over my dogga that had surgery for biopsy so I can’t reach out to him today and I have to work Saturday. Trash truck driver blues. Truck has only 130k miles and I don’t want payments so I fall under stubborn old man

And it’s a second gen :fistbump:

Why you changing the assembly? Because of the pulley?

    Yea.
    I have done it.
Left hand thread I think You will know when you remove the one from the new bracket.
As long as the arm and pulley runs true, you can..

    what she said.

My coworkers got one. I've had the pleasure of doing a few road trips with him. I have to say, when someone else has shelled out the 70K and you can just enjoy the truck, it is a super comfy highway runner. MASSIVE touch screen in the dash. Leg room for days front and back. So, as a Buick, it gets multiple thumbs up. But ugly. And less truckish.

I'm with you Pibbles, happy to keep my 2.5 gen running. She gives me absolutely zero drama. I still get people approaching me in parking lots to ask about her. Gonna be a sad, and expensive, day when she finally goes tits up. Should be a while though.

And welcome to the fray. Split my youth between Andovah and Eggzahduh, gradiated from STA in Dovah, still get back often (Indy for now) Take care of that '08! The DOT there in the granite state has a detailed plan to destroy your vehicle, and a very high success rate. Go to their website, first thing you see is a photo of a massive orange salt truck. You know this, undoubtedly. My '13 wears Woolwax like Dean Martin wore Aqua Velva and Johnnie Walker. So far so good.

True about the excessive salt and brine the apply to their roads. I try to keep the undercarriage of my truck clean to best of my ability.
