I used to work for Broward Marine back in the 90’s, built 6 of those a year. That pic is on the Kalamazoo River on a sea trial in Saugatuck. Run up the river first before heading out on the big lake.

I know the area somewhat. Use to spend a LOT of time near Grand Junction/South Haven. Have freinds in Saugatuck and around Kzoo. Mom's a WMU Grad. Go Broncos.

People not intimately familiar with the Great Lakes don't realize how daunting they can be. I raced sailboats in the Atlantic as a kid (Bullseyes in Marblehead) and Chicago (T33's) and the lake is everybit as formidable.

That's a beautiful boat. Not my cuppa, but impressive none the less.

If I'm anywhere NEAR there...it's off on the Phoenix Road exit for Shermans...

If @BananaMan or @Tacoma Mike were out this way...they'd be all over GingerMan. Great track from what I've been told. Have always wanted to have a reason to run something there, but never have.

I've got a pump ready for a section of my back yard that has the potential for water to accumulate. Hoping the current snow pack absorbs most of the predicted rain and/or the ground can absorb some. I'll be checking every couple of hours throughout the night.

    I'm all ready...

Everything in position to deploy if needed.

2 1/3 HP pumps (simple submersible type)
2 hoses (super flexible and non kink)
    2 25' extension Cords
    Coffee maker filled/ready
    Rain Gear & Rubber boots
    Headlamp

Generator filled and proper cords in position.

Went through this 4 yrs ago (I think). Goal is to simply prevent the water from getting close to the house/foundation. If it builds up and freezes, there's no place for future metlage/runoff. There's only one Downspout on the back of my house. Under normal circumstances, the ground absorbs it nicely or it pools up well away from the house.

    Proactive.
