Man you're ready. I'm just gonna snore tonight and hope my tarps keep the worst of it out.

Heard from insurance today and they're cutting us a check just large enough to cover the full roof replacement. Interior sheet rock damage will be on me, but that's fine it lets me fix it the right way not the way they say is cheapest.

 

Each pump, 25' exterior extension cord (taped to the pump cord) and the 50' hose fits nicely in a milk crate. Keep them under a work bench in the basement for times like this. Hose simply threads to the top of the pump.

 

Good deal on getting that check in a timely manner.

 

Trying to find someone to to do it right will be the challenge…

 

Well I’m ready too.
Two passes around the foundation.
Path downhill for water overrun.
Gen hooked up and cabled..
Test run complete.
May have to fight the weather at 6am to get grandson on the delayed bus.
Meat thawing for supper tomorrow.
And now we wait..

 

Rain now. Have been checking future radar here and there. The heavy yellow rain bands have shifted inland a bit recently. It's all green until about 1:00am.

4 inches of snow here, now heavy rainfall and high winds. Haven't lost power yet.

 

Dodged a bullet. Despite the heavy rain and wind, everything was ok. I checked hourly and the water was simply pooling up in the normal area. Just took another look and I don't see any standing water anywhere. Maybe the ground wasn't as frozen as I had assumed. PHEW!! Time for a nap.

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

I haven't had either of these running... ever. Gonna stress test them around the house before bothering to take a wild ride up north with them.

 

They don’t need to “run” to go 60mph.
