I very well might be. Figured somebody I knew locally might have something but I'm striking out. If it comes down to it, I'll try my hand at making a butcher block top just to get the dimensions big enough.

It may not look like much, but this is the closest to the two dogs "cuddling" as we've gotten. Our big dog (playing with his toys in photo) typically doesn't like to be touched when laying down.

No way to fix the old one?

New blowers are typically junk compared to the old ones.

'Tis a sad day. Luckily shovels and flamethrowers still work.

Mines about 6 years old, Cub Cadet, I think it’s the transmission, started fine, tried to engage the auger, no go. Let it warm up still no go. Tried warming it up, now it won’t pull start or electric start, engine won’t turn over.

6 years old? Jesus what has this disposable world come to? I don't mean you tossing it, but the fact that the parts were made to fail. Normally those MTD blowers are decent for the money.

My Troy Built is from 2008 and still has greaseable auger bushings and a grease fitting on the gear box. It also has a gear drive compared to the friction disk and chain. Doesn't blow snow as good as I like, but seems built stout.

Sump pump has slowed considerably. Was kicking on every 5 minutes, now about every 20. It's not in a deep pit like houses with high water tables and constant standing water. Mine is only needed during extraordinary rain/snow melt. They broke the concrete, inserted a plastic 5 gallon bucket (all but 4" below the floor) with holes drilled in the sides toward the bottom, backfilled with some crushed stone and then filled back with concrete to even it all out. Pump sits in the bottom. I'm guessing it pumps a gallon or two when the float is triggered.

I seem to have escaped the basement water entry... this time. Strategically placed 20' of drain pipe on each downspout exit to guide the water away from the foundation. The water normally diverts into the cistern, but it's full and I think the overflow ties into the weeping system around the foundation. Wasn't risking that with all the snow melt and rain we had last week. Got to re-route the overflow in the spring. I had a sump pump, but it was tied into the house drains which it would have overflowed the septic field. It was also pitched wrong so the water softener brine water was getting down into the pump and pit. It was a mess...
