    All prepped for another storm…
After this one I’ll pull out the backup (toro) and run that for a few storms.

It's warming up! From -10 Thursday night (electric starter isn't happy), our lowest temp of the week and nobody around downtown as I left school (10-11 p.m.), we're heading toward 28 with snow arriving tomorrow night. It's winter in north Idaho... Tacoma Mike would have liked my Friday night: the required nightly cleaning of the teacher's lounge tables meant I headed home with two mobile containers of Starbucks' Pike Place roast, one full, and the other barely tapped. It's been a good three-day weekend, and "I have a Dream..." Escaping the HOA to some acreage with a sweet home, large shop, garden and... close to rivers and lakes. (Pastor MacLane is on vacation to Aruba, bonefishing... We all hope his family's travels were not disrupted for this two-week break.) Only five months of school, and I'll retire as the 1/2 time night custodian position after two years. "You're retired. Ever consider part-time work?" What a line! (Hooked a sucker...)

Kitt, David Hasselhoff's back! I should find the photo of "Blue Thunder", the airplane I hauled from Alaska when I retired and sold to a restorer in northern Wisconsin. It was blue and so quiet (C85) that nobody noticed when we'd fly back from a dawn patrol over the Copper River Delta to the city strip.

I also just realized you were referring to the blower not the storm... it's treating me really well and I'm doing my best to return the favor.

    how do.

another dusting last night. verything is white, but I have yet to touch a shovel, a snow blower, salt or even a broom, so I count it a win. Cold is supposed to relent tomorrow....

GF had laser eye surgery this AM, laser, but not 'lasik'. She sliced her cornea last summer while re-potting a damn plant, it's never been able to heal. This is supposed to FIX it. She's actually pretty tough so this whiny-ness actually has me feeling bad for her. two weeks of essentially nothing.

    Good afternoon everyone!

I left werk early, it seems that pennsyl-tucky doesn't own any snow plows, the drive into work was sketchy at best Once I got there, the snow started turning to freezing rain. No way in hell is that job ( or any) worth driving 35 miles on unplowed/frozen sleet covered secondary roads. I'm finishing my lunch, then get a farh goong in the woodstove then bust out my 5hp snow blower to clean off the driveway.

Couldn't resist. I hope that it's an easy fix for you, it still sucks that you have to go out in the snow to buy a new snow blower.

I finally got NTB to swap out the tires. long story short- they tried to drag out the exchange program past 30 days so that they could cheat me out of doing it. I got a district manager involved, which led him to send me to a different store ( closer to home) and that store took care of the mess. I got the Hankook Dynpro ATM Extreme, it worked pretty well in the snow this morning. They seemed quieter on the drive home last night.

PennDot pretty much just lets us figure it out anymore. 4WD or AWD is starting to become a requirement around here...

I did get to put 25 miles in 4x4 this am. roads were pretty slick. My system doesn't get enough activity in this regard, so that was good. Cooper Adventure ATV's did fine. They're a cheap tire, not nearly as nice as the Michelin's were, but traction was good. 12 mpg....not so much

I can't wait to replace the factory Goodyears on my truck. In 2WD it's almost useless, but 4WD is decent. Last storm I had to drive home during the brunt of it and just left it in 4WD the entire time.
