You have my empathy. Since I wanted to clean up the corrosion on the outside of the little air box that mounts on the 2TR-FE exhaust header (and replacing that), I looked at AutoZone on the way to work and picked up some Black Magic No Scrub All Wheel Cleaner. It looks (and I feel) a lot better now. We did something, any way...

 

I bought this carb today from a guy who said it was off a running sled they were parting out. Yeah, ran downhill with a damn push maybe... $60 friggin waste.

I'm up to 3... hopefully I can make one from three and buy one more next weekend.

 

Aaaaand now I'm back to no carbs. The one out of three that I had that was the right body size (34mm) had a stripped pilot in it. Tried everything with screwdrivers and extractors and penetrant, and gentle heat, but it ended in vain. Sometimes I hate carbs....

Back when you could ask somebody "how's it hanging"

 

Here's my pile of junk. On the left is the right size body, but cast with no choke circuit for some reason. Never seen that before. Middle is also the right size, but the pilot screwed to hell and now scrap metal. Right side is a 30mm body, too small. So I've got a lot of the wrong size jets, no carb body that's any good to me, and I'm out about $150 for all of them. Plus the new jet kits/gaskets I have for when I finally find the right carb. Sooo about $300 wasted on two sleds I paid nothing for. Anybody want some scrap metal....
