Fun times. Day 4 of rain, power’s out.

Kicker is, I live on a well. No power, no water.

    Start up the generator.
Plow has been by like 4 times and it’s just starting.
    Snow is cement.
This one is going to be bad.
Enjoy your rain, I’ll enjoy my snow.. lol

    Well it's a toss up.

Option 1 - head in to Portland, right up on Munjoy Hill, precariously prop my ladder on the 2nd story deck and then replace the cedar clapboards.

Option 2 - head to Cumberland Foreside and work on those stairs right on the ocean.

Probably less than 1" on the ground here. Was expecting more to have accumulated last night. But seems like it'll start piling up today.

Already 114K w/out power in York & Cumberland county. Lots of branches weaked from the prior ice storm.

Option 3- stay the fuck home. It’s not the best out there. Wind is going to shut stuff down.

We have 3 or 4 here with a lot more to come.
    It’s really heavy.
My tractor would have been useless in this cement.
So, I don’t feel bad about that.

About 3-4 inches here in central Maine, not much wind to speak of yet, but it's coming. Tunny got me to work just fine, definitely time for some new rubbers though. Just trying to wait out the snow and put the old stock tires back on for this summer.

About 4” here. Heavy as hell. Generator is going. I think we’ve lost power a half dozen times in the last two months. Installing an on-demand generator this summer. Im so fucking tired of CMP.

Just walked a mug of coffee down to dad and holy crap, reminds me of the ice storm of ‘98. Trees are all bent down into the road, limbs all over. Its super pretty though at least..

Reports from Buxton are that the grid is sustaining power at this point.

I Feel for you guys. As a kid, man, there was nothing better than a day like this. Of course as far as news or visibility, all we had was the occasional update on the tube and what we now know were VERY vague forcasts of what to expect. It was a thrill. I didn't drive or have a mortgage so no stress. Just hopes of school cancellations and enough snow, (with ice topping please!) to make the hills around town (for me it was Exeter Country Club) a BLAST! Nothing like a 12 year old on a sheet of ice plummeting down a hill that terminates in a rock wall! What could go wrong?

I'm getting all nostalgic now. I'll stop.

    She is lucky.
Half of Buxton doesn’t have any.
My boy in Hollis doesn’t have any.
He loses it a lot. (Auto Start Gen).
Hope she has a game plan…
