Just finished dinner and two nice bottles of wine with the powerless neighbors. Now we're headed outside to watch the digger derrick dig the hole and install the new power pole. Don't tell me I don't know how to show my guests a good time.

Two bottles of wine and you only get to watch somebody else sinking their pole? Bud, you overpaid.

Trash & Recycling rescheduled to today. Sometimes they show up at 7:00ish. Brought out the toters to curbside. Fortunately, driveway & street was still clear from final cleanup last night. Never lost power...very fortunate.

You NE folks all make me feel very lucky that our miserable winter storms seldom knock out the power at my home. I don't know that I could do it with as often as you guys have to put up with outages. Hats off to you all! :hattip:

Power came back around 550 this morning so we were able to make our coffee. Priced out parts for a panel swap and generator interlock and PB50 to get us by until we rig the chonker gen up. Spring project. We need a new panel anyways, the 16 spot one is tandemed and totally full. Absolute cluster.

    Good morning.
Friday is upon us. Turns out a bunch friends from my Chicago days will be joining me in the path of totality. Coming down for the weekend to camp in the yard.

Gov of Indiana has proclaimed a state of emergency through Tuesday afternoon due to the influx of people. W. T. F.

Meanwhile the daughter did lose power. Electric heat. No generator. None to be had. Not having too much trouble. Lots of blankets. May make the run to in laws in Wells, but of course the roads are shite

We want/need to upgrade our panel. Definitely a generator disconnect, would really like to get a whole house, natural gas generator.

I was lucky. My house had a 200 amp service with electric heat. I took out the electric heat so left me with a whole bank of empty slots. Between extra lights, garage, hybrid hot water, I still have a few slots left (5). I’m sure when your done you will have tandem 200’s with enough slots to make your neighborhood go dim when you fire off stuff in the garage.

Had to do some hauling today, pretty damn long combo. And probably more trailer than the tundra really wants to haul. Every bump and pothole that trailer shook the truck like hell.

Eh, trailer was slightly tongue down when empty which didn't help, but even when loaded pretty evenly, it was just too tall for the tundra. Really could've used a straight hitch instead of my 2" drop that I have.
