My pupils will be dilated, I'll be useless for a few hours after. That's why I try and schedule an early morning appointment.

Kinda like the warm sizzle you get when you have welding slag fall into your ear

The sound isn't too bad, but the burning itching afterwards will get yah. After once or twice you start wearing ear plugs (not foam) while welding on your side in weird positions. Then when somebody asks why you think the welder is loud enough to need earplugs you can explain the wonderful experience of having a doctor excavate burned ear wax out

I didn't know that cornea transplant was a thing. Are they artificial or donor? I had a lense transplant in '21 (or maybe '22)

Well I guess the underwear worked.
They packed up some stuff with the dogs and haven’t seen the new neighbors in 4 days.

Donor. But different than other organs. Only have to match by blood type, age, shape, etc. There's a cornea bank in Baltimore. Just order one up. And no meds needed to fight rejection.

My injury resulted in an instant cataract. I have an artificial lens.

I have a cornea issue in my right eye (same one with lense transplant). I use the dry eye (Restasis) medication drops. I produce plenty of tears but the cornea is not smooth so the anti-inflammatory action of the Restasis helps. The analogy my ophthalmologist used was to compare my cornea to water running down a smooth window versus a textured shower door. I've got the shower door.

hey errybuddy. Been a busy week.

    First, happy Belated @FlyingWolfe!!

Had a couple dozen campers/Eclipse viewers come down to my place because I live in the Path Of Totality. Being in charge of the Path Of Totality venue made me the P.O.T. Head.

    Dad joke merit badge achieved.

It's been raining ever since and I'm over it. Basement is flooded. River behind my house has completely flooded it's banks. everything is wet and soft and muddy. Let the pup ride shotgun for work yesterday. She had a ball. Work truck (Ram Big Horn 2500 Crew Cab with a Turbo Diesel) has heated seats. They worked a treat.

    Hope ya'll are doing good.

I asked my Dr (young female...and quite attractive, but married) if she could take a picture of my cornea and the graph (the scar left from the transplant). They basically use a teeny cookie cutter device to cut out the cornea and then suture in the donor cornea of the same size. All the equipment has built in cameras, so she did and them emailed it to me. You can see the line where the graph is. My eyes are blue, so that non blue section/dark line is just from the very bright light she was using. My pupil looks grey, but it's just the bright light. Her words..."your graph looks beautiful ".

Well today didn't go as I hoped. Went and retrieved that 87 merc, stopped by a fellow racers shop on the way home to put it on a loft and go over it. Ended up deciding it was too far gone even for parts. Slight change of course on the return trip and it went off to the big scrap heap in the sky. Easy come easy go, got as much for it in scrap as I gave for it to help a buddy out.

On another note, I picked up a deep cycle battery wrong and twisted. Dear lord I could barely breathe or move after that. Ibuprofen and a hot bath is where I'm headed now.
