I think any reasonable person with military training or otherwise would shit a brick in a dimly lit far side of a creep assed basement and coming around the corner to that goblin assed thing. Maybe its just me. Whatevs

I got tires for my Taco in December, I tried the Falken Rubitrek, they stayed on for about a week before that got "warrantied" and the Hankook AT Extremes replaced them. I'm liking them so far, they handled well in the snow and rain. They balanced well and aren't too noisy on the highway.

 

Back out on Cumberland Foreside all week. There was a leak along the old 4" cast iron main drain/stack from the 2nd floor to the basement. Plumbers opened up numerous walls (destroyed really) in multiple locations and ended up replacing the whole thing, right to the basement. I get to fix the carnage. Old wood lathe, plaster and then drywall over it all. Good times.

 

I'm having flashbacks to my old house down south. Entire section of cast iron was rotted out along the top. I remember back then the labor was only like $500. Bet it won't ever be that cheap again. I spent that much on someone to come out for 2 hours to fix one pinhole leak in my radiators

At least there's none of that wire lathe that came after the wood lathe. That shit is brutal.

 

My current house is double drywall with a wire mesh in the corners. That shit is brutal in itself. Pretty sure the sand texture is asbestos

 

My house has that as well, but 2 layers of plasterboard/skimcoat. So much nicer than drywall IMO. Other than the corners that is.

My floor is also 2" thick coupled with the 2x10 floor joist it feels like you're walking on concrete. Well, except for the creaky AF wood floor.

 

Yup, plaster in sheets. The transition from full manual application/skimcoat (very labor intensive) and drywall.
