I like canoes, they’re easier to get out of when they flip. It’s hard to put a pontoon boat on the roof.o_O:D

We were out on the lake near us in our kayaks, guy on a pontoon boat gave me a beer.
Mrs. Spruce Mica: "where the heck did you get a beer?"

    They all have their place.
You can't carry your boat on your shoulders.

this canoe as seen holds food and lodging for two for 8 days in the wilderness, no other humans for that duration, and was carried on my shoulders - portaged - for over a mile between lakes. Neither a kayak or a pontoon or aluminum skiff with an outboard could tick all those boxes.

Very Cool. If your family has deep roots in western Michigan, it's highly likely they rubbed elbows with my Mom's people at some point over the years. She hails from Howard City. Big family that got involved in all sorts of things going back to the 19th century. Still a few of them up there.

My pics are of Paul and Vivian, an adopted grandfather if you will. Long story to make it all make sense, but he was born in 1906, died in 2013 a couple months shy of 107th birthday. They were married for 68 years, and he spent the last 25 years of his life looking after me and my kids in Chicago. Those pics are from when they were 'courting'. They met through a Swedish social club as young singles in the 1920's. Pre Tinder.

Just do a sit on top kayak. You're not "in" them at all. Now, won't work for whitewater or anything crazy, but great for just paddling or fishing from.

It's awful fun to flip a tandem kayak fully loaded with supplies, and be able to roll back upright with some teamwork. Never got anything in the water tight compartments wet thanks to our spray skirts.

I’m too old to hone or buff anything.

This dude has no intention of going over either.
