Growing up in Detroit every school class trip was either, Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, Detroit Zoo, or the Ford Rouge Plant. Love old stuff, Kalamazoo Air Zoo is pretty cool, need to go back again.
The wooden prop blade I found interesting

    @jwctaco

I didn't know about the air zoo museum?!?!?

Very cool stuff. A friend of mine actually owns a Henderson (moto)

Always like it when old stuff is fixed rather than "improved' upon.

The Kalamazoo Air Zoo is pretty special, a lot of private money, Upjohn /Striker. It’s at the airport, they have rides on some of the old stuff.

I try to not think of the morons that built my house.
I see that crap they did and I’m surprised the house hasn’t burned down or sprung a water leak.
Crystal, when I see stuff like this every time I Pull a wall plate, I can’t believe it passed…

After some trial and error, it has been determined that although both our dogs can fit in the backseat, neither one is particularly happy about the packaging. They certainly prefer to have their own space. Hands down the worst is when the big dog steps on the small dog and makes her fart. Those damn gas clouds are lethal!

    Task failed successfully.
My favorite to date was the common wrapped on one the ground of a 3way on a metal box. Was going through this long story about how it was fine, something about a lightning strike, and “I replaced that three way myself..” Thats usually door number one when a customer says they touched literally anything.

Bakelite box and plaster, but a newer switch. Very doubtful it is original. Is the lath rock lath or wood lath? I'm even surprised there is a ground to connect. Bakelite and plaster have a big overlap with knob and tube, particularly if the lath behind the mud is wood, which would indicate 1940/50s-ish.

    I’m sure it’s original.
Built in 1986. Mass production area.
Two wire lights with no neutral in some places.
Floor joists (that I can’t get to)sandwiched and creaking.
    That’s ok, it adds character.
It’s all mine and don’t owe anybody anything..

Yeah K&T vanished back in the 50s or 60s and there was a 45 year overlap when the ‘snakeskin’ NM wire came on the scene in the 20s. Equally shitty but slightly less likely to burn your house down.
