This week my wife will be using my stock rig, so I'll be commuting in my not so stock rig... Funny enough the 60 gets better mileage and is a tad faster. PXL_20240526_170827372.jpg

    Good Morning All.
OCD took the best of me
Had to FINISH THE WOOD WORK…..

    IMG_7858.jpg

Came out exactly like I wanted.
    No stain
    Clean paintable wood
    Store heavy shit overhead
Going to make it so much easier to paint.

    25 more days.
Glad I did it this way.
Pick at it a little everyday.
    No stress

Cool, cloudy and light drizzle. Perfect conditions for a clay bar. Did the GB and the Tundra (still no nickname yet). The Tundra was surprisingly clean. And did a debadge. Got tired of explaining what a TSS Off-Road is. Not common at all here in the northeast. I like the clean look. Still need to remove the salt catchers. Need a 2nd set of hands.

I had to put up with that vision for 48 years.
    No need to rekindle that.

Did you try trisodium phosphate on the walls? Not the fake crap they have in Home Depot, actual TSP? It works wonders.

I've been fortunate enough to watch the testing and visit with Ed Cooper's crew during set-up day a couple years in the Tri-Cities (WA) as he's been allowed to race with the Allison V1710 in the H1 Unlimited hydroplane series. Tasked with removing the 19 small bolts and washers on the impeller (single stage supercharger) before the specialist mechanic arrived from Empire Aerospace to pull it and remove the gears, one can't help but be impressed by the machinists' art of that time. (It's been awhile, but I recall it taking just as long to put the impeller back on, plus the end case and other parts.) This engine's on loan and static display at the Bird Aviation Museum at Coeur d'Alene Airport (KCOE), Idaho. Dr. Forrest Bird and another officer set up the Army's transatlantic aircraft ferry service. He flew a captured Ju88 to the US, and took the Luftwaffe oxygen mask, which he delivered for use in developing better oxygen systems for US airmen. That resulted in his invitation to medical school, and his development of the Bird Respirator which replaced the Iron Lung.

Thanks. Bigger project than first started. You know, “while I’m here”. Lol
I can help with those steps if necessary.
Impact gun will zip them off in 10 min.

Thanks! I have the body plugs (16) . Was thinking of a little shot of FF around/in each hole before putting the plugs in.

Let me know when you're less busy.

The TSP should remove the nicotine entirely, and put you back down to the original paint.
That said, what also will work is denatured wood alcohol. It'll dissolve the latex paint and bring the tar stains along with it. You will *have* to wear a respirator, but it is fantastically effective. Test somewhere out of the way so you know when to stop, otherwise you'll go right down to the sheetrock or whatever is underneath. Ammonia works well too, but will just strip off the first layer of the latex paint, thereby removing the tar as well. Not nearly as potent as the alcohol, but it will work.
