not that it's relevant but it sounds like it would go nicely with your purdy truck....

    Happy Fri'yay'

i need a weekend in the worst way. Been in moving mode for 6 weeks with a 8 day vacation break thrown in there, which included 2200 miles of driving, so that subtracts 2+ days right there.

    yes. I'm complaining.

    @Plain Jane Taco
I need generator council. Do they make them yet that operate like a hybrid car, coming on occasionally to maintain a power level, kind of like a compressor? Or do they just run. On or off.

I'm turning a storage unit with no electric into a shop for working on bikes. Figure if I have a generator I can run a compressor and charge some tools and have a work light or two. Never had to buy one before and there is a W I D E range of stuff out there....

I've had been thinking about the possibility of another truck. Next May my youngest will graduate highschool and start college in the fall. I want to give him my Corolla Hatchback. He's currently driving our old Yaris. So if I give him my Hatch I will need a DD.

Talking to a coworker earlier in the summer I mentioned maybe thinking about a truck. He said he bought a '23 new in July of last year and as barely driven it (3200 miles) and might have a change in plans for it. I sort of half assed inquired about it. I threw an offer at him that was a little low and he said sure.

The newest 2nd gens are over 9 years old now. And I didn't feel like playing the game of finding a low mileage rig with a good frame and forking out what they go for. So yeah...Turd gen. It's not so bad.

I don't know Smoke. I'm not much of a generator expert. The one I have is an old Honda

I still have most of mine. But when Covid hit and you couldn't find a place to get the ol' ears lowered I started shaving my head. Haven't looked back.
You got a few years on me.

    Well
I was a little off the top today.
I went and bought two new garage door openers.
    Why? I don’t fuckin know.
    Actually I do.
    Old ones work perfectly.
My mother’s house got hit by lightning.
Lost cable boxes, WiFi, tv, and garage door opener.
I replaced hers and the features caught my fancy.
    So, I did it.

    IMG_8182.jpg

Modern stop technology. No external sensors. Stop points adjusted with button pushes.
    Has battery back up.
Outside external keyboard for multi openers.
Vehicle transmitters can accommodate both my doors.
    Smooth belt drive.
    Couldn’t pass them up.
Getting the fancy gadgets before both of us are fully retired..
Stupid purchases? Yes but, now I can keep everything locked during a storm etc and still get the big door open.
