God I hate that movie.

Brother in law would put that movie on repeat every Christmas. Lucky for me, I no longer associate with those people.

Today we're celebrating the wife's birthday. Gotta get a few things done. Please don't wipe your boogers on the walls. Mike hates that.

Ok I know this post is going in the shitter by Adam and the rest of you but.
A few tech tips (aka hack repairs) are involved.
Repairing non structure rot is a piece of cake using this method.
    #1 Plug the rot
with a piece of paper towel.

    IMG_8190.jpg

Mix up a thick batch of this stuff.

    IMG_8191.jpg

Plug that sucker and form it into the rough shape of a rounded over 1x4

    IMG_8192.jpg

The best tip ever, since it’s raining right now and rock hard absorbs moisture,
    using this is the bomb.
It sticks to some surfaces of wood…

    IMG_8194.jpg

so it can breath but not physically be touched by water.

Paint the first dry day and dun.
    Goood enough till next year

Not trying to be that guy Mike, but those doors have seen their day o_O

Before you say it, yes I know, not my money, not my place, yes, yes, I know.

Hopefully you can get some more life out of them. They make an epoxy that is waterproof and would likely last a little longer than the Durham's. However, even with both products they won't shrink, but the wood will keep on rotting and the patch will pop out.

Please don't think this post is me being a dick...

A coworker of mine recently bought their first house. He said the wife unit wanted to paint the living room. In the process of prepping the walls he noticed a "soft" spot about 6"x6" square. He started poking at it only to find it was spray foam that someone had mudded over. After digging that out he found it was hiding an electrical box with live wires (capped off at least).
