Things have improved over the last 60, 50, 40 years... I'm in that generation that had steel band braces installed and removed with a (scaled) slide hammer, while the kids had their choice of colors in plastic or nylon bands. Three of the dentists were working in my family clinic on a "Crown Tuesday" last month, during my 2-hour appointment to replace my sole silver filling with a crown since pressure from the tooth above had pressed the silver deeper, gradually cracking the sides. Doctor Matt, who went on a mission trip to Haiti with my daughters in 2013, explained everything, so I took photos during the project of the tooth after removal of the filling, and the crown after it was milled on the CNC machine, before kiln curing, polishing and cementing with a less than 5-minute (epoxy?). Matt read the the reply of hello from his PLU classmate, my eldest, after she'd received my text with photos. It's a small world wherever you go.

The durability of ancient Roman concrete has been studied by materials scientists and a paper copyright 2023 distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution. The self-healing concretes and mortars used by the Greeks and Romans have remained durable for millennia in a variety of climates, seismic zones, and in direct contact with seawater. Reminds me of visiting a neighbor when I was in junior high school who'd been a SeaBee during WW2. He explained that they built roadways and runways on Pacific islands by spreading and grading coral, and wetting the surface until it solidified.

Just ran out of light bulbs after 5 of 6 condo buildings, so I have a chance to rest and catch up (maybe), before picking up an order at Home Depot (belt sander and pack of 400 grit belts) tomorrow, and Ziply Fiber instal Thursday morn...

The Yukon-Beringia Museum at Whitehorse, Yukon Territory was one of my favorite AlCan stops, and my girls enjoyed standing next to the actual size beaver statue. Imagine a beaver standing 5 feet tall encountering a mammoth hunter or another member of the clan. They also have an articulated skeleton of Jefferson's ground sloth inside the building. The Transportation Museum is next door with the DC-3 wind indicator next to the highway (relocated from the airport). A small tank locomotive used during the gold mining era has retired there, and had previously served industry out of Spokane, WA. Amazing stuff!

I appreciate the traditional story of a shaman who walked out on the beaver dam, and as a couple of beaver kits approached, told them, "This is the size you are, and shall grow no bigger from now on." The people rejoiced, I'm sure.

    I’m alive..
Wasn’t fun but better than I thought.
    Dr is awesome.
    I felt one shot.
Jaw hurts some from being kept open with a floor jack think.lol. felt like the nurse was sitting on my lap using two hands
To push it open. She was cute, good personality, few tattoos..
He loaded me up with Novocain for sure.
Felt like my lips were around my waist after.
Thought I was in trouble cause the double extraction area started to throb even with the injections still working.
So between his pills, my pills, and Advil it was kinda manageable. Pain is one thing, the throbbing in your head is something else. It was pretty bad for for a while.
4 hours after, the throbbing stopped and I could walk without having to second guess myself.
Bleeding stopped and after 1 1/2 hours I ate Carol’s Luke warm homemade soup. Like the whole thing just about.
    Mmmmmmmmmmmm
Hadn’t eaten in like 20 hours.
So far this morning I’m ok. No pain meds at the moment.
    Sore, stiff, but, no swelling.
So I think I’m good. TY for asking.

    Edit:
    First time twilight sleep.

Very glad you are good. I know what you mean about the throbbing ... like a pounding headache ... which I reckon it actually is. Hope your recovery is quick and uneventful.
