Doc this morning told me the opposite of the last one two days ago and said to move as much as I can tolerate. Was able to screen print a shirt for one of our Russian pilot buddys. Machine will take a little learning to get perfect but close enough.

That's how I managed. Layed on a heating pad till I was limber enough to move. Had the wife help stretch my back. Even had her walk on my back sometimes (probably not a good idea). I would sometimes have to do this every day. But I stayed active. I did everything in my power to limit using my back as much a possible though.

I did everything I could to remain somewhat mobile even if it hurt some. Over time the pain began to subside and slowy the numbness and tingling in my legs lessened. After about a year most of the pain was gone. Took 2 or 3 years for the leg numbness to go away. I would say it ended up at about 98%. To this day I can feel a tiny bit of numbness below my knee in my right leg if stand in one spot for awhile. Nothing I can't easily manage. As for the back itself? 99.8% pain free for many years. It's as if it never happened really.

 

Yeup and according to most people on TW, I still didn’t know jack and I was a thief.

 

The heat makes my back feel unstable. Been icing it up and doing PT stretches. The sciatica down both legs now, numb feet, and tv-static below the knee are maddening but glad to hear a successful-ish healing story. Gives me hope. I had it bulged five years back and it healed back 99% within a few months. Hoping it does the same this time too.
