Bambed trimming for the bed stiffeners, and the same for the Bambed bed sliders. Easy enough, but the prep work measuring, cutting and finishing is to match with the 1/32 standard of the Deputy, and Dad, who'd tell me when we were done that, "We're within a sixteenth." I'd reply, "Closer to a thirty second." Calling it a day, he'd invite me to join him for "Doctor's orders." The Doc would ask him how he was doing at the end of his annual physical. Dad would tell him that at the end of the day's work he has a Coors and a small bowl of chips, and Doc would reply to "Keep on doin' what you're doin'." Sounds like the doctor's orders...

I picked up a Daytona a couple years ago when I took a look at my hilariously inadequate (capacity/height/trust) '90s Sears jack after dragging home an IDI Ford to fix up. I looked at some that cost several times what it did but none could best its working height and the rapid action to go along with it..not that I found at least. Has done everything I asked of it with no complaints, other than maybe being a little creaky.

I was close to springing for NAPA's jack but the breaking point was the local store's counter guy is quite a, uhh, character..I try to shop local and over the years I have lived here, he's generated thousands of dollars of business for Rock Auto. :D

To be fair....when I deputized him a few years the paint fumes from all these renovation projects hadn't fully smoked his noggin yet

It has an adjustable pedestal. Couple that with high lift and you get some serious clearance with it.
