The shaft from the turbine bay was drilled toward the bottom of the lake. Near the end of the upper ramp, an adit was drilled and excavated vertically downward to received the rock falling from the last vertical section to the bottom of the lake, with a safe thickness of rock remaining to seal the bottom of the lake until broken by explosives. The explosives plan had detonation times planned for each ring to explode, shatter the rock that would fall into the adit, diverted by the ice packed in the tunnel, cushioning the valve below. Those of us at the ADF&G hatchery facility also attended the safety meeting, and were told that someone would tell us when it was safe to return to the hatchery, so we went across the runway to work in another facility. Naturally, nobody showed up after the blast was done, so after watching the number of airplanes leave with the observing visitors, we asked, went back to work and later watched the video of the lake surface during the blasting operation. The camera and observers were quite a distance above the lake, so it was hard to tell whether the blast resulted in a champagne of bubbles, or one large bubble. Pretty much a non-event... Other than the "Bhagwan" making multiple crew van trips from the Alaska Electric Light & Power plant to the Port Snettisham runway hauling visitors to their chartered Cessna 206s.
The transmission line to Juneau is impressive, and visible by air until it runs under Taku Inlet. We had our USFS wanigans (floating camp) in Limestone Inlet five years earlier (1983). Ken Bellows (BellAir out of Sitka) and I flew over the transmission line on the way to Sitka from Hobart Bay, as I was told I could have up to a half-hour standby time with the plane to fix the camp's water system problem. So we flew over the line, landed, tied up to to the helipad float, and I got out. Looked at the 300-gallon water tank, noted water leaking from around the end flanges, opened the hose bib (attached to the tank top vent as several of us had set up for a gravity feed water system from a freshwater source always at a higher elevation (but not as high as the Limestone Inlet fjord source). Less than five minutes, and Ken and I took off over the transmission line to Sitka at high altitude on a clear calm afternoon. Saw a deer in the middle of a muskeg pond on Admiralty (evading the biting, flying insects) while splitting an orange. (206 on straight floats).

    Hope this helps...

STC: Supplemental Type Certificate, according to the FAA. Oh, You mean, the Space Time Continuum. The FAA can't handle that.
The Navy Secret Space Program does... William Mills Tompkins wrote about it in his book, Selected by Aliens, in which he describes his work with Admiral Rico Botta during WW2 and later. :alien:

I only use the feces book for the marketplace, and that has been quickly turning into a worse place then craigslist ever could be. I do narrow gauge model railroad as a hobby, so there's a few dedicated groups strictly for that niche of model railroading. Was there anything 'special' that you have to do to shut down the acc't? I've been tempted more then twice to do the same thing.

I did it before, then set up a new account as a guitar instructor online uses it to contact her students, but then Algo Rhythm started with the "friend suggestions" and I haven't been back since. You do need to back up your content to your own machinery, if you want to keep the content. Otherwise it's fairly easy to do. :pccoffee:

As you’d expect, they make you work for it. Its buried in security settings, accounts, then they ask you ‘Are you sure? Are you really sure?’ Then they dont delete it immediately, they deactivate it for 30 days THEN delete the fn thing. I hate social media so much.
