It was a weird situation. Wanted to get out of my manual 3rd gen and all the certified used '22 and '23 automatic 3rd gens were the same price as a new one. They gave me an even better deal on a '24 lease so I said eff it. It has unfortunately become one of my favorite trucks. :goingcrazy:

Quite the conundrum in which you find yourself. It'll be entertaining for the rest of us.

https://www.tailgateseal.com/ToyotaTacoma.html Installed this yesterday, and figured out how to print the instructions this morning, after copying and printing the text yesterday and using the illustrations photographed on my smarter Samsung Legend A10e. Nice to be able to enlarge the photos on my phone to see exactly how to cut and place the bulb seal pieces from the 10' length. Extruded Solutions, Inc. manufactures, retails, and ships (USPS free in a week) from West Chicago, IL. Drain holes in the side cubbies were plugged * yesterday, too, so intrusion of dust, silt, sand, and more should be reduced under the cap. I plan to have the cap reset and to seal the area under the rail caps (if it wasn't done originally) one of these days. :yay: * I had a tube of DAP Kwik Seal Plus clear sealant, applied to those slots with a saved Haagen Dazs ice cream bar stick as spatula and scraper, and the phone flashlight to illuminate the work. There's a lot to the description on the tube: "100% Waterproof," "Crack Proof Guarantee" (Duluth Trading Company's Long-Tail Tee takes care of that), "Paintable," and "Easy Water Clean-up & Low Odor" (took a shower after use). :rimshot:

To bet installed: bling grill, headlights, fog lights.
Didn’t know Deluth had that guarantee

I’d be interested in hearing how well the seal work you’ve done works for you.

Me too. My Total Chaos bed stifferners have shown more corrosion than I'd like, after a couple o' salty midwest winters. This would have done the trick.
