The Lund is nice because it's very adjustable.....height and length. It can also be converted into a vertical position to use with a bed rack or roof rack. And if you have to carry something wide you just flip the arms upside down, then you have a flat surface. It's also got a 700 lb capacity

I paid something like $165 for it almost 10 years ago. So the price hasn't gone up dramatically all things considered

Being so inexpensive, I had low expectations. But it's been great.

 

How wide is it inside.
Two different widths between specs and video

 

48" at the widest setting and 28" at narrowest. Adjustable holes in the side upright pieces about every 2". I rarely use the sides, just ratchet strap the cargo down. Haven't had anything shift.

 

You can always flip the sides upside down if you need to carry something extra wide
