I've got a fall ride with my moto bro's on Saturday. Supposed to be an idyllic fall day. 40's at sunrise, 70s after lunch, and not a cloud in the sky. Ride to a place called Cataract Falls, then on to 1850's farm house (hard to come by in these parts) for a thanksgiving caliber spread laid out by one of my mate's aunts. A high point of of each of the last few Octobers.

This shot from a prior year...

@MQQSE that's where my brain goes when you say you're weekend starts. I can't wait.

Ok. Point taken. I'll leave the lighthearted curmudgeon role to Mike.

Today's job. Replacing two totally rotten porch posts. Had to replace the treads as they were destroyed in the process of removing the posts. So much rot elsewhere, but they just wanted the lower step area and posts replaced. And the ends of the handrails are all punky, but I found enough solid material to get some trim head screws in. Posts had to be notched (O don't like doing that). I spray primed all the cut ends and a little above the decking. They can prime & paint the rests (posts are cedar btw). And the decking was 1st gen synthetic and couldn't match perfectly. Close enough and they were pleased.
