Good morning.

I'm not a coffee drinker....yeah I know, fight me....but we have one of those single cup Kuerig things that my wife and oldest use. I've made hot chocolate with it. Seemed pretty damn hot to me. But I don't have anything to compare it to.

As a little lad I can still see and hear this old green metal coffee maker my grandmother had. It had a little glass knob thing...almost like a site glass at the top that the coffee would circulate through. Maybe it was called a percolator. Not sure. I'm not well versed in such things. But that thing gurgled and whooshed quite loudly. It was part of my childhood morning atmosphere....along with Captain Kangaroo.

I still see things in the stores kinda like it.

 

I'll have to look into one of those once the other person in the house moves out. I like brewed coffee with grounds, they like the pods, so I have to keep a combo unit around

 

Plausible ... it'd be cool to dump out a truckload of pumpkins in front of it and see what happens.

 

I had a perculator coffee pot in my camping gear ... sold most of that stuff off at one of Kristi's garage sales 5 or 6 years ago. I use a jetboil IF I go hardcore huntcamping. We take a generator, microwave, and Keurig fishcamping.

 

At this point that's "glamping"

 

It is ... I make no claims to the contrary. Git off my campsite.

The micro got a good workout after every cup at the shop.
I think I told you about the coffee pot we had in the shop in the 70’s.
It was a big sucker. It had a issue and would reperk every 2 hours.
If you were getting tired, you had a stick to your ribs cup at 3pm and you were GTG for about 4 hours..lol
Miss those days.

 

I want two.. Backup you know..

 

I’m thinking of getting a percolator just for the nostalgia.
Once in a whole pull it out and fill the house with that coffee aroma..

 

I've gotten used to it I recon. I add cream to mine so it further cools it down

 

Ball spinning this morning and more work on the tractor switch over later.
Install chains
Install the suitcase weights
Clean the cap top.
After this project is done it’s on to the Corolla..

 

I need to get my butt out in the garage and do my holiday receptacle work, but I'm being lazy...

 

Morning folks rain most of the day. House cleaning vacuum,dust. Over did yesterday doing the leaves. Two neighbors are widowed and elderly, so I usually step up. Going to take some muscle relaxers, house cleaning might not happen

Next year I take out one cross-link link. The chains have stretched enough, so I’ll be able to get the connector right at the top of the tread.

 

Wax the windows and RTG…..

 

I did not know they made retail machines. The ones I was used to held about 2 pots of water( in the on deck circle) then dispensed it when you poured in fresh water. Cool part was a disc in the burner center that would raise the pot as the coffee was consumed. No need for an On/Off switch at most locations.

We never had one dem fancy center of burner pot raisers ... we'd put pennies on the burner to keep the pot from boiling down when it got half empty.

 

If nobody was there over the weekend some “stand by” water would boil off making that first pot Monday morning being half full but mighty strong.
