I like manuals, have always had them. The T4R is my first automatic, always feel like I’m forgetting something when I drive an automatic, or it’s senility

    Been a long week.
3 sets of balls are going away today.
    Hope this doesn’t happen again.
Was to much like work. Back didn’t like sitting in front of the spinner for an hour, taking
a break, then going back to it.
Tried some different techniques and learned some stuff.
Will have some room to move around now…

Oh there will be some mods all right
I was a little hesitant about CVTs but Subaru did a pretty damn good job with my outback. Honestly, the average person who just goes from point A to point B would never even know it's not a regular transmission because the simulated shifts felt pretty real. It also was always able to find power and never made any obnoxious droning. No idea as to longevity but it was more capable than many trucks that I have had (trucks that were four-wheel drive but did not have any special crawl control or any lockers) honestly one of my favorite vehicles I've ever owned

    Good Morning Stockers
Good to see you post. :fistbump:

Subies are very popular in Alaska. I have a friend at work whose wife commutes Wasilla to Anchorage Mon thru Fri in Outbacks ... runs them up to 220K miles, sells them off for a few grand and buys another. I think I've seen her go thru 3, but I think their oldest daughter is still driving one of them. Never heard any major complaints. I'd have your wife get her friend to let her drive hers ... if she likes it, get her one. If Momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy. :notsure:

    Nailed it!

Will do. Is that the Subi technician? I may have seen some of his stuff in the past.

I did notice that, looking at the specs. Also, about 1.5" more ground clearance too.

The friend has a Limited with leather, moon roof and all the assorted bells and whistles. But the Wilderness caught the wife's fancy. We'll see. Terrible weather right now here. And it may be a bit before things thaw out enough to actually look at them.

She likes the looks, mostly. But we live just far enough north to occasionally have decent winters (exhibit A: this winter). So it could actually serve a purpose beyond hauling her cute ass around and going through the Starbucks drive thru.

Head gasket issues seem to be a thing, but only the engine design prior to 2013. Aside from the occasional post about a transmission or oil consumption, I haven't heard too much.

The Crosstrek was apparently available with a hand-shaker until a couple of years ago. And though my wife drives a manual just fine, manipulating one daily would go over like sand in her vagina.

    Morning yall,

Been on this platform for awhile now and finally came across this thread LOL. Looks like I found home :)

Here's my 2022 OR DC 4x4 next to my pop's new 2025 OR DC 4x4.
    upload_2025-1-9_8-49-28.png

Both are mechanically stock. Test drove the 4th gen for two days and it honestly feels like a Highlander with a lot of turbo lag. Pops is already complaining about the transmission shiffting rough. Buying first year models is never a great idea. I had a 2016 Tacoma Sport 4x4 and that one had the rear diff issue so i've learned my lesson. I will be running my 3rd gen until it decides not to.
Anyways, excited to meet/speak with some of yall on here
