I use it on stairs only if possible. If they fall in the drive it’s their fault. Learn how to walk on ice.

I prefer calcium- or magnesium- chloride for lower temp deicing and pet/plant happiness, but everyone is definitely sold out, so I called up my work and grabbed a bag off of our pallet.

Also I sold my old Civic to my sister (for my nephew) so the driveway has less in it, which makes my wife happy.

Looks like a wild week here, too. It warmed up so snow settled, melted and hopefully the liquid will run off the roads before snow returns tonight into Monday. As we've figured the past several years, snow will really show up after Groundhog or Woodchuck, and possibly Hoary Marmot Day... Kids moved to a new house today, even closer so I could walk there. Have to wonder whether shank's mare would have time to clear crossing the 5-lane road on the traffic light... :turtleride:

Wake up early with the anticipation of shoveling the snow that accumulated last night with enough time remaining for more to fall to absorb the sleep/freezing rain that's coming in later.

Only 1" on the ground. Guess I'm just letting it roll as is.

    First world problems I know.

Time for a 2nd mug of coffee.

Carry on and be safe out there in the mess.

They just plowed. I did remove the pile at the end of my driveway before it turns into a glacier later.

Yea I’m waiting as long as I can before I go out.
I have ice melt under everything right now.
Not going to do much but will do the road clearing.
Even though I have a good size blower, ice equalizes the game..

We got a pretty good dump of snow a few weeks back, it’s now a big chunk of hard shit. Roof raked twice already, now it’s time to get the scoop shovel out and move it away from the house, should have done it right away, some people never learn.:annoyed:

It worked out. About 3" now and it's transitioning to sleep soon. Should make for a much easier cleanup this evening.

Snow Removal science/strategy. Who knew!! :D

About an hour before the sleet line gets here.
    Sleet isn’t the problem.

With this volume it will be a problem...like dry mortar. Then add the freezing rain. That cushion of snow underneath will make cleanup much easier.

Tell me more. I don't know much about ECM/tuning.

What is the goal with your fuel curve?

Been binge watching that "Men Who Built America" series on the History Channel.

Fascinating learning about Rockefeller, Carnegie, JP Morgan, Edison, etc.

    Ruthless & Cutthroat stuff.
