Spring is here and all the chores are rushing to the front.

I can finally start early garden prep and wake up the bonsai. But first some long overdue maintenance...

Felco 2: Gotta love it. My M-I-L gave me one and the 2-way sheath as a Christmas present in back in 2001.

Barely broken in now and has never missed a beat. Just a light dressing-up with a stone now and then. Maybe time for a Felco "Tune Up kit" for mine too?

It was $35 for the new blade and a parts kit at a local store I try to support. Well worth it. This pair is only ten years old, my previous set was lost (stolen).

Gratuitous EDC dump incoming, but look at the difference in the blades, even with regular cleaning...

I clean the scabbard with saddle soap and treat it with Obenaufs Boot Dressing a few times a year, it's held up really well. It's due for a cleaning when I do my winter boots before I store them for the warm season.

Awesome and thanks for posting the pics. Receiving it was a real surprise. Even back then an expensive gift. I have a garden and use them all year to trim the plants and bushes around the yard. Always wanted to try a pair of the ones with the rotating handles. There is a non-big box garden/nursery center near me that sells them and the replacement parts. They don't carry every model Felco makes, but quite a few nonetheless.

I treat the leather case with with SNO-SEAL and use it on my work, hunting and hiking boots as well. Water-proofs without stiffening the leather.

I've seen the rotating handle but I've never used them :notsure:

I think the Model 2 is now the Model 11 if I remember correctly?

I've used them for work for years and I don't think there's a better brand, even if you just do stuff in the yard.

Also I love cheese! Got a nice brie for sandwiches this week.:101010:

How long until you're past getting anymore snow?

I started enjoying cheese about 5 years ago, I had no idea what I was missing out on. Now I'll take a nice little block and cut it up into little squares along with some spicy salami, red seedless grapes and fancy Keebler Club crackers served up on the "nice" cutting board. :D

    Morning.
    Another dreary day.
    More Bowling Ball work.
Working on an old set now that has the hardest composite I’ve come across.
I thought my dremel bits were getting dull.
They absorb moisture instantly. Like wow.
    So a learning experience..
