It’s weird, unless the wood is sitting by the side of the road, nobody wants it. I had a red oak tip over in a storm about ten years ago. I cleaned up the brush and left a 30’ straight clear log about two foot wide just rot. Even called the local sawmill, to difficult to get it out for just one log . I’ve had some pretty good bonfires . That splitter looks tempting  I bet if I split and bundled it up, set it by the road, $5 a bundle it would sell:rolleyes: cash only :D $$$

Unfortunately, I'm no longer available. (Nearing the end of the third quarter of my 70th orbit of the sun, the first year of my eighth decade. Those two words confused Mr. Bob, but recall that your first decade started at age 0, ending with the 9th birthday. When was the end of the millenium, and the computer panic over Y2K? That was the year 2000, not 2001.
There was a B.C. cartoon, in which the proprietor of the hardware store counter rock was asked, "Do you have any post hole diggers for sale?" "No, Slavery's been outlawed."

My favorites have been the 20 or 24-ton hydraulic splitters, and the 3-point on Dad's John Deere 2240. I started driving the Case VA (wide front), and my favorite (one of his first diesels) was the Massey Ferguson 235 with the Perkins diesel that powered several boats in Alaska, and everybody questioned the engineering design (fuel pump mounted upside down?), but that engine just runs. IHC tested six diesel engines for the Scout II, and the Perkins 6.247 was the best, but supply was uncertain.
    Enjoy the day!

Around here, as soon as the tree service trucks cut down trees, they're gone within a day or two. I didn't have my own saw so I always missed out on free wood. That all changed tonight.

Stihl 290 Farm Boss with a 20" bar for $200. The guy had logs to test it with, the chain isn't the sharpest so I will buy a new one tomorrow. I'm tempted to go back to the 18" bar that the saw came with when it was new.

Nice saw, I keep a few extra chains, like to run sharp, they will get in the dirt and dull up. Check your bar for wear, it will start to kinda get a rounded groove or valley, especially at the tip.:bananadance:
