Isn't this how it usually goes, clueless contractors?

Around here there's one contractor that out bids the rest on giving estimates. Everyone decided to go with them but when the work fails inspection they will cry, bitch, complain when they have to pay them again to fix it right.

The work quality is good. The homeowner owns a law firm in Los Angeles, has a home there and in FL. This is their "summer" home. They've been living on their 70' boat all summer. They just replaced the 2 diesel engines at the bargain of $100K. They pay for and expect quality work.

My issue has been scheduling and communication. The GC will tell me "we're working in x room(s) this day or the electrician will be in y room(s) that day". I plan the painting around that. I'll show up and they'll be doing something entirely different and often in the area I had planned for them to NOT be in. I've moved my stuff about 4670 times to accommodate and make progress.

This part is what I don't hear. Behind the scene stuff. I just here how bad the workmanship is. It hard to find contractors that takes pride in their work.

It seem there a lot of "lack of communication" in the work field.

Yeah...clean cut or just smush 'em till they aren't there anymore.

 

It's better than getting castrated by the same process as crushing grapes for wine. Then they really will have blue balls.
