Thank you sir! Had that little SOB a long time. It was hard explaining it to my 5 year old, but he accepted it and learned some more about the circle of life.

Our beloved cat Claudia died suddenly at a young 4 years old. My daughters were much younger...6 and 11. It rocked them.

Thankfully I found her before they did. It was not pretty. It was a very difficult last few minutes of her life. I have an indelible memory of her eyes starring into mine as she took her last breath.

My girls are older now and they can look back on it without the raw pain they used to have. They still occasionally visit her grave site under a tree in a wooded area a couple of blocks from our house. There's a pink "C" engraved on that tree. We still put her Christmas ornament on the tree every year. We can look at old pictures and videos of her and smile now.

These 2 mean everything to them these days .

Same here brother. Lots of hours and very warm temps. It was an even 100° here yesterday + humidity. Not unheard of down this way this time of year. But we're normally in the low to mid 80s by mid September

Finishing touch on the daughter's car repair. $29 Amazon hubcaps. Pretty damn good quality, actually.

Back in the mid 80's I worked as a Mechanic in a Heavy Equipment shop. It was hot as hell. I hung a thermometer on the wall next to my tool box. The Director came down out of his air conditioned office and told me to take it down. I said NO he went back upstairs. LOL

PJT and I have been getting similar weather (i'm 200 miles north of him), creek beds are sand trails right now. And now the heat is back. No mud in these parts for some time.

    Great for motorcycles, tho.

We've had a fairly wet and pretty average summer temperature wise in Central Ky this year. But the last couple of weeks have been very dry.

Update on the world's slowest ball joint replacement:

Got the split rings off the uppers, they were rust welded to the ball joint. Impatiently waiting for my ball joint press, I tried to use a 2 arm puller to get the ubj's out of the spindle knuckle. Had it all set up and applied a bunch of pull. There is only a small lip for the arms to grab so they started twisting...

I decided this was bad (duh) and went to remove the puller. The reversal caused the puller to lose it's tenuous grip and explode.

Good luck (and possibly Jesus) sent a 1" socket, a 1/4" thick piece of steel, and 2 arm puller blasting into the inside and top of the wheel well leaving me unscathed.

I'll wait for the ball joint press.:anonymous:

Good evening and happy weekend! Mohave county fair this weekend, I'll take the boy so he can eat a bunch of junk and get sick on the bumper cars.

County fairs are always fun. Carnival food...funnel cake, corn dogs, weird meat products on a stick, deep fried Oreos...once a year I'll partake.

I usually end up hanging out in the Mexican food section. The food is amazing and not very expensive
